October 2023 Newsletter
We have had a very busy and productive start to the academic year. We spent the first few weeks learning about what it is that makes us all unique and special, We then went on to explore our emotions which the children have been doing with so much confidence and are now able to recognise many different emotions in their peers.
Goodbye Cath
We were very sad to say goodbye to Cath at the end of September; Cath has been part of the Little Acorns team since January 2022 and will be missed by staff and children alike. We wish Cath all the best for the future.
Bags2School
Thank you to those of you who have already handed in donations. Our collection is scheduled for Tuesday 10th October. If you have any of the following that is no longer needed then please bring it to Little Acorns Preschool before Tuesday 10th October:
- Men’s, Ladies’ and Children’s clothing
- Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around)
- Handbags
- Hats
- Bags
- Scarves and ties
- Jewellery
- Lingerie
- Socks
- Belts
- Soft toys
- Household linen
- Household curtains
- Household towels
- Household bedding (bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers)
Open Evening
We have scheduled two open evenings to take place on Tuesday 7th November and Thursday 16th November between 5pm and 6pm. Both prospective and existing parent are invited to join us, where you will be given the opportunity to come and look around our fantastic preschool and meet our wonderful team. There will be fun activities for the children to participate in and refreshments available. Come along and find out what makes our preschool special.
Winter Fayre
Our Winter Fayre is due to take place on Saturday 18th November. We are on the lookout for cake donations (which can be brought to Little Acorns on the day or on Friday 17th November) and tombola donations (canned goods, bottles, boxes of chocolates, packets of food etc). Your help will be gratefully received.
Hot Dinners
We have new hot dinner dates scheduled for October:
Friday 6th October: Fish and chips with a choice of sweetcorn or baked beans
Monday 9th October: Sausage and mashed potato with a choice of sweetcorn or baked beans
Friday 20th October: Chicken goujons and chips with a choice of sweetcorn or baked beans
All meals will be served with vegetable crudites and a yogurt will be offered for dessert and cost £3.
Please let us know if you would like you child to be included in our hot dinner dates.
