It may well still be November, but the festive season is very much upon us. Christmas is a time that is filled with expectations aplenty; we all want to ensure that our loved ones have the very best times. At Little Acorns Preschool, we thought it would be useful to once again share some things that you can do with your little people that will fill them with Christmas joy, but won’t impact on you financially.
¶ On Friday 29th November, the lantern parade is taking place in Camborne and the town Christmas lights will be switched on. Festivities start at 6pm.
¶ On Friday 6th December, the Barripper village Christmas lights will be switched on (tbc)
¶ On Sunday 8th December, the Penponds Community Nativity is taking place at 4pm. Everyone meets in Penponds village square and then follow the procession up to Penponds Church.
¶ On Thursday 12th December, the Penponds village Christmas tree lights will be switched on at 4.30pm
¶ On Saturday 14th, December from 12noon, children can participate in the annual village Christmas hunt and party. The Christmas hunt takes place in Penponds and Barripper and there is a party that follows, which takes place at Barripper Village Hall.
¶ Enjoy a Polar Express afternoon. The Polar Express is a film that never loses its magic. It is the perfect film to enjoy snuggled up with a blanket and a hot chocolate.
¶ Enjoy a car tour of the local lights. There are so many beautiful lights that are displayed in homes. Why not pack your little ones in to the car with drinks and snacks (or go by foot, weather permitting) and do a tour of the Christmas lights in your local area.
¶ Visit your local garden centre. Garden centres are definitely the place to be at Christmas time. Some of them have Christmas packages on offer but I find that the displays and decorations are enough on their own, without having to pay for additional packages.
¶ Participate in a Christmas scavenger hunt. These can be downloaded from a website called Twinkl, or they are very easy to make and you could include Christmas related items that your children are likely to spot on a walk in your local area.
We hope that these ideas give you some inspiration; if you have any ideas that you wish to share then please add them to the comments.
